Linda Lucherine

Linda LucherineTopic: Sterilization and Endoscope Reprocessing – Survey Readiness 
Linda M. Lucherine (Lou-ker-eé-nee) RN licensed in New Jersey, is certified by the Association of Operating Room Nurses (CNOR) and served in the US Air Force Nurse Corp as a Perioperative RN during the Vietnam War. Also certified by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management (CRCST).

She is a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses, the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation and has held managerial positions in Perioperative and Sterile Processing Services with over 35 years of experience.

Although retired, she currently is working as a quality consultant with the Infection Prevention and Perioperative Service teams at AtlantiCare, a member of Geisinger Health System. Her role is assessment and recommendations for performance improvement regarding regulatory compliance related to high level disinfection, sterilization and perioperative nursing process.


Roberta Harbison


Topic: Sterilization and Endoscope Reprocessing – Survey Readiness 
Roberta Harbison has a degree in Business Management with a concentration in organizational leadership, a certification in Lean Six Sigma as a greenbelt, is certified by the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses & Associates as an Advanced GI Technical Specialist (AGTS) and two certifications by the International, the International Association of healthcare Central Service Materials Management (CRCST, CHL). Roberta teaches the Central Service Certification course at Atlantic Cape Community College and is the Director of Sterilization and High Level Disinfection Services for AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, a member of Geisinger Health System with 15 years’ experience in the field. Roberta closely partners with the Infection Prevention team leading many processes at AtlantiCare that focus on safe methods for the cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of medical devices. She is responsible for Central Service Operations to ensure regulatory compliance and best practice throughout the AtlantiCare health system. She is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, the International Association of healthcare Central Service Material Management, The Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates, Inc. and a continued member of the National Honors Spire Society through Ohio Christian University.


John Fanburg, Esq.


Topic: Regulatory and Legislative Update
John has more than 30 years of experience in health and hospital law, with an emphasis on corporate, transactions and regulatory matters for physicians and health care institutions.

 

 

 


Francine Widrich


Topic: Drug Diversion – overview of the Health Care Professional Responsibility and Reporting Enhancement Act and health care entities requirements for reporting health care professionals for incidents involving medical malpractice; impairment; unprofessional conduct relating adversely to patient care and safety; and incompetence relating adversely to patient care and safety
Ms. Widrich is the Special Assistant to the Director of the Division of Consumer Affairs. Having started with the Division as an intern while studying political science and public administration at Montclair State University.  Ms. Widrich attended graduate school at Rutgers University and was graduated to Master of Public Administration in 2000 and Master of Business Administration in 2003. Ms. Widrich joined the faculty of Montclair State University in 2004, where she is an adjunct professor in the political science department.

She currently works in the Professional Boards Unit, where she assists with the management of the professional and occupational licensing boards. Ms. Widrich was the project manager for the implementation of the Health Care Professional Responsibility and Reporting Enhancement Act (Cullen Law) and serves its Clearinghouse Coordinator.

This presentation will help you to prepare for a Survey, covering the necessary books (standards) needed and highlight the “hot topics” that the surveyors are targeting.
