Hackensack Surgery Center is looking for a top-performer with solid knowledge of PACU/ Recovery Nurse Supervisor. As health care continues to evolve, the clinical expertise of nurses is more important that ever. Nurse Managers are registered nurses that are relied upon for their professional judgment and critical thinking skills as well as their ability to effectively manage production, patient safety and other leadership responsibilities. They may work closely with the surgical patient, family members, and other health care professionals. They help plan, implement, and evaluate treatment of the patient and oversee the management of that care by their clinical team. PACU Nurse Managers directly affect the quality of care by assessing, planning, and implementing the nursing care patients receive in the operating room by setting directives for the surgical staff. These activities include patient assessment, creating and maintaining a safe and comfortable post-recovery environment for the patient; integrating and coordinating patient care throughout the surgical care continuum including post-surgery discharge; interacts with other clinical care teams in the surgery center.

Current NJ Nursing License
Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Minimum 2 years’ experience in PACU or related clinical specialty in an acute setting
Minimum 2years’ experience in nursing leadership or management
Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, hospital staff, physicians, vendors and the public
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative
Excellent communication skills
Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
Excellent teaching skills *
