New Jersey Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers Elects New Board Members/Officers

Whippany, NJ (July 29, 2025) – The New Jersey Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers  (NJAASC) has announced that two new members have been elected to its board of directors: Trina Brinkley, RN, BSN, MSN, Administrator of Freehold Endoscopy Associates, and Marjorie Reiter, MPN, FACHE, Administrator of Surgery Center of Central New Jersey. Filling two seats that were left vacant by former board members that were no longer able to serve, Brinkley will serve the remainder of a term for two years, and Reiter, for the remainder of a term for one year. In addition, NJAASC has announced the election of the following to its board of directors:

  • Meg Stagliano, MBA, MSN, RN, Senior Vice President of Ambulatory Surgery at RWJBarnabas Health, NJAASC Board President, (elected for a second term as Board President)
  • Trina Brinkley, RN, BSN, MSN, Administrator of Freehold Endoscopy Associates, NJAASC Board Treasurer
  • Sheila McAteer-Sturek, RN, BSN, MHA, AVP Ambulatory Development and Operations at Virtua Health (elected for a second term)
  • Aaron Shechter, CASC, CEO/Administrator of Hackensack Endoscopy CenterEndoscopy Center of Bergen County (elected for a second term)

Other current Board members include:

  • Cori Prisco, RN, DNP, Administrator of Short Hills Surgery Center, NJAASC Board Vice President,
  • Joan McKibben, RN, BSN, CASC, ONC, Administrator of The Joint Replacement and Spine Surgery Institute, NJAASC Board Secretary.
  • Elizabeth Convery, RN, Administrator of Livingston Surgical Center
  • Caroline Hauser, Administrator of Florham Park Endoscopy & Hanover Endoscopy

“New Jersey’s ambulatory surgery center sector is a dynamic business and regulatory environment, and in many ways, has historically set a tone for the ASC industry nationwide. NJAASC’s Board plays an important role in helping to guide our member centers in this ever-changing business environment and keep them up to date on new and emerging legislation and regulations impacting the industry here in New Jersey,” explained Meg Stagliano, MBA, MSN, RN, President of NJAASC’s Board.

“At the same time, the Association, under the direction of our dedicated board, is committed to providing many opportunities for networking and informative programming year-round, as well as advocating for our members and New Jersey ASCs more generally.  Our Board works very hard to cultivate these events and ensure that our member centers and vendor members alike are realizing all the benefits of NJAASC membership,” Stagliano added.
